Does anyone have any information of inbreeding within a captive group of Geoffroy's Marmoset...Why? Because recently one of my subordinate females died giving birth. All of the research that I have seen is
that subordinate females have ovulation suppressed by being in captivity with their mother, the alpha female. The only time that a subordinate female will ovulate is if the alpha male, her father is removed and new male is introduced to the group and then.. both the alpha female and subordinate would likely mate with him Obviously her father was the likely one to have mated with her Living in hope someone has heard of this situation before .
