Do these seasonal events have any predictability or do you just have to get lucky?
The aquarium will announce these events on their website and SNS.
As far as I remember, the last time it was on exhibit was back in 2022.

They have behind the scenes tours daily, but I was not able to see it when I took part in the tour last year.

Hi, I am currently on my 15 days trip in Japan and regarding Toyohashi zoo can confirm that only Bornean white-bearded gibbon Pippi is alive. Otherwise this zoo has wonderfull bird collection with lots of rarities. Now back from Port of Nagoya Aquarium and saw only one Emperor penguin, I returned twice during my visit, especially for feeding time and still only one bird.
