Ripley's Aquarium of Canada A new aquarium for Toronto

Wow really? This looks great! We need an aquarium!

It certainly is an ambitious undertaking, a city with 6 million people needs a great aquarium, and the decision to build it at the base of the CN Tower is sheer brilliance!

I don't know how I'd missed this! I think it's quite a large undertaking, but if done properly it could be quite fantastic.

I hope there are octopus. I miss the octopus at the zoo.

The Toronto Star reported that the aquarium is to open in 2013 (which is 2 years sooner than originally reported!). Very exciting!

I know there is already public relation meetings going on for the aquarium.

How similar will this Ripley's Aquarium be to the ones in Myrtle Beach (South Carolina) and Gatlinburg (Tennessee)? I know someone who recently visited both and he thoroughly enjoyed his visits but stated that the two aquariums had approximately 85% of the exact same exhibits. Are Ripley's a larger version of Sea Life? Nevertheless I'm quite excited for the development as a city the size of Toronto really did need an aquarium.

I've heard sea turtle, we should add it to the list! As well as many species of jelly fish!

Any new news anyone? I haven't seen many updates recently?

Past by it the other day, construction looks fairly busy, SUMMER 2013 OPENING!

So excited that its finally open can't wait to go. Has anyone been yet? What should visitors spend extra time on, whats special, what what what?
