I thought I'd follow the trend:

Ape house
Still no baby orangs. The 4 youngest gorillas were having a lot of fun together.

Red River Hogs
Pumbaa has been separated from Pablo as she is due to give birth any time now. Hurray!

Monkey Heights
The former Pudu house, in between the 2 wings of Monkey Heights, has been converted and the Emperor Tamarin family had just moved in. I thought it was going to house the goeldi monkeys, pygmy marmosets and white faced saki monkeys from the small mammal house but maybe they're moving into the tamarin's former quarters.
I've seen the lesser mouse deer mating on several occasions so am hopeful of spotting a baby sometime. Not that the adults are easy to see!

Lowland Anoa
Both male and female are now living in the former Bison House, though apart. The house, yard and paddock have been adapted - the yard is surrounded by plants and the paddock is divided in two. The female is still quite young and I've seen her in the paddock while the male was shut in the yard.

Hartmann's Mountain Zebra
The male, Bingo, was confined to the stable area with a damaged ligament.

Croc Swamp
The Nile crocs were in exactly the same position as last week, but the Cubans and Salt Water had moved. There were only 2 very large snakes on show - one has died and and one has been taken off show for a while. Don't ask me which ones they are as I'm still having difficulty identifying them. They don't look like the too-colourful pictures on the signs to me.

Echidnas
Not visible.

Gardens
Lots of pruning, and planting of new specimens. Vegetation along the railway track has been cleared and fencing put up.

Thanks, one question where have the Emperor Tamarin family moved from?

They were in an enclosure at the entrance to Monkey Heights nearest to the zebras. As you go up the ramp, the netted outdoor area is to your left and then you pass the indoor enclosure, next to the Prevost's squirrels.

I've heard on the grapevine that Pumbaa gave birth but the hoglets didn't survive.
The Pelicans are back on the lake.

i recently wnet to paignton, i still cannot find the pied tamarins that they have, anyone know where in the zoo they are?

I have a feeling I've seen a sign for them on the (closed) Small Mammal House. I'm visiting the zoo today so I'll check.

Are you only just waking up over there. I can never quite get my head around the fact that not everyone in the world will have finished dinner an hour or two ago and are now watching TV before they go to bed.

It's 9.40am here - I've been up for hours! Well, at least an hour! I have to get to the zoo when it opens at 10am to get a head start on the school parties.

The sign for them is on one of the outdoor cages attached to the Small Mammal House.
Incidentally, I discovered another Anoa - hidden away between the Kangaroos and Lechwe. Also, there appears to be a Maned Wolf behind the Cheetahs. This ties in with the ISIS listing of 1.2 Anoa and 2.1 Maned Wolves. You have to look quite hard for the mysterious off-show areas.

I replied earlier that they are in the Small Mammal House. I saw three in their outdoor enclosure today. There was also a notice saying a baby had been born on 2 February, but there was no sign of it. I was told recently that a baby tamarin had died so I guess it was that one.
