We all know that the Europe DLC is on the way, it will focus on Southern and Western Europe themes. It seems most continents are covered by the DLCs now, so what will the next DLC gonna be like? Let make some predictions, based on the likely preference of the Frontier.

The Frontier prefers the most popular and well-known species, rather than the most exotic, also prefers the species that can be done by modifying the existing rig, rather than making a new rig. Therefore the Exhibit species of NA pack is American bullfrog, rather than the much more exotic San Francisco garter snake, Indigo snake, Texas blind salamander, etc.

Starting from the Southeast Asia pack, Frontiers makes DLC in the circle of species pack - scenery pack - species pack, and so on. The Europe pack is a scenery pack, which means the next DLC will be a species pack and has 7+1 species.

There are some parts of the world that have not been covered by the DLC yet, for example, Central America, so it is pretty likely that the next DLC will be the Central America pack. So which Central American species might be favored by the Frontier? My predictions are:

-Axolotl, as the exhibit species. They are quite well-known, especially among pet owners. We already have aquatic Exhibit species which is Diamondback terrapin, so Axolotl should be no problem under the current mechanic.

-Sloth, it is frequently mentioned and demanded by many players,, and it is definitively one of the most iconic animals of Central America. As the theme is Central America, the specific species of sloth could be either Hoffman's two-toed sloth or Brown-throated sloth. Both the species are not common in zoos, especially Brown-throated due to their specialized diet, outside of natural habitat, only the DWA in US keeps Brown-throated. However, the Brown-throated might be more well-known, b/c they are publicized by the character "Flash" from 《Zootopia》. So I bet on Brown-throated sloth.

-Northern Tamandua. Yes, tamandua is a highly possible choice, as the theme is Central America, so the corresponding subspecies would be Northern tamandua.

-Spider Monkey or Squirrel Monkey, the Central America pack should have at least one Primate species, could be either Spider monkey or squirrel monkey. I personally prefer Spider Monkey b/c their swinging moves are so cool, but I feel that the Frontier tends to Squirrel monkey b/c they can be made by simply modifying the rig of White-faced capuchins.

-Ocelot, as we already have Jaguars and Cougars, then Ocelot seems to have no competitors for the carnivore choice. Tayra might be a competitor, but it is less known by the public than Ocelot.

-Nine-banded Armadillo, currently there is no any Armadillo in the game, the Central America pack may get one, the Nine-banded is the best known Armadillo species, it can fit in Central, North and South America theme, and it is USA species so it could be pleased by many players (you can see even American bullfrog can earn many cheers from fans in INS).

-Kinkajou, that could be, although it is not a popular or common species, it has cute looking and weird long tongue.

- The last choice might be a bird? I like Roseate Spoonbill. In fact, the Standard version already has Greater Flamingo, which means wader birds have no problem without aviary mechanics. Why not have more waders? But, as we know the Frontier is lazy, they probably just change the rig of Greater flamingo and present us the American flamingo, that could be possible, refer to the Arctic wolf, Malayan Tapir, and American bullfrog.

I think the next one is gonna be something along the lines of a tropical/ rainforest DLC based on the capybara data mining. Gives them a good opportunity to use some animals that would be hard to include in a regional pack. I’d guess capybara, a gibbon species, either a spider or colobus monkey, a tree kangaroo, a duiker, an ocelot and something larger like a banteng or forest Buffalo.

Could also just be some kind of South American animal pack, which id prefer due to the likely inclusion of rhea, maned wolfs and spectacled bear, but I think a more original/ untapped pack is more likely

After the Central America pack, the next DLC will be a scenery pack again. The theme is likely to be Greater Asia, b/c currently the scenery pieces of the Middle East, Himalayas and Mongolia are still absent. As the scenery pack, the species only be 4+1. I predict that each of these 5 species will represent one part of Greater Asia.
-Yak, since many people in INS ask for Yak, it is the iconic species of Himalayas that deeply connects with Himalayan natives and culture. The Yak will represents the Himalayas region. Its rig can be done by modifying the rig of African buffalo, Frontier: "I love doing so"

-Indian Cobra, as the exhibit species. Since we have Yak here ,then less likely to have Gaur or Nilgai, but we need a exhibit animal for almost every pack, Indian Cobra is well-known due to its high status in Indian myth and culture, it is the prototype of Naga, the Indian mythical dragon-like creature. Indian Cobra will represent the South Asia.

-Przewalski's horse, when we talk about animal of Mongolia, we would think about horse, the wild horse of Mongolia, which is the Przewalski's horse. Its rig is quite easy to make, the Frontier can just use the rig of Zebra and make some adjustments, that is what Frontier
loves to do. The P-horse will represent North Asia.

-Dromedary: when we talk about the animal of Middle East, the best known one is definitively Dromedary, it connects with daily life of Middle East people for thousands of years, like Yak and Himalayan people. Although I personally prefer Arabian Sandcat, the Frontier like the best known animal, rather than the exotic. So the Dromedary will represent the Middle East, or the West Asia.

-Red-crowned crane: finally we need one species to represent the East Asia, the Red-crowned crane is a great choice since it is strongly featured in Chinese, Japanese and Korean traditional culture. If the Frontier insists to have at least one carnivore, the Raccoon dog might be a substitute, it has long history in Japanese folklore and legends, and recurring theme in modern Japanese culture.

Capybara is not hard to include, just make a Brazil pack, you can have:
-Capybara
-Maned Wolf
-Bush Dog
-Red-legged Seriema
-Scarlet Ibis
-Brazilian Porcupine
-Golden Lion Tamarin
-Emerald Tree Boa (exhibit species)

I think that you just created this thread to make public your personal roadmap of the game lol

I think an Aviary pack should be next which will include more ground/wetland birds. Birds are very much needed for the game. Also to include netted roofs and not just for aviaries. I haven't included the Emu and Rhea as they could be part of other packs.

I would include 8 species.

- Wattled Crane
- Eastern Grey Crowned Crane
- Black Stork
- Scarlet Ibis
- Roseate Spoonbill
- Pink-backed Pelican
- Red-legged Seriema
- Cattle Egret

There are still so many animal species from all over the world I would like to see make it onto the game, not just mammals, but other birds and exhibit species.

Those are my predictions about what will Frontier likely make next, not my own roadmap. If I am the Frontier, I will make the Middle East, Himalaya and Far East 3 packs rather than a single Greater Asia pack.

Middle East pack:
-Egyptian Cobra (exhibit)
-Hamadryas Baboon
-Caracal
-Dromedary
-Arabian Oryx

Himalayan pack:
-Himalayan Monal
-Pallas Cat
-Yak
-Markhor
-Takin

Far East pack:
-South Chinese Giant Salamander(exhibit)
-Red-crowned Crane
-Racoon Dog
-Sika Deer
-Japanese Serow

I hear a rumour says that the Frontier will make a Primate pack first to improve the mechanic of arboreal locomotions, then the Bird, or the Flyer pack (bird + bat) will be the next. But the Frontier can make waterbirds and wader birds pack before that, those birds don't even require aviary mechanics.

Well that would mean an oversaturation of asiatic animals, and having 3 asiatic packs in a row seems a bit annoying without mentioning that it would piss off people when there are continents like South America and Oceania that still lack major representation; also they'll never make Country-specific packs due to the fact that chinese investors have a lot of pressure on the team and China doesn't like to represent any county but themselves.

That's a quite old """leak""" and it has been proven to be false a long time ago, and the modding community over on Discord even found out who started the fake rumor (it was Randy all along), so I wouldn't expect anything on the arboreal and aviary aspect, but I do agree that more waterfowls would be nice indeed

Central America is not a proper continent by itself, and also is referred as "North America" in the game, but again I do agree that these animals in your list would be welcomed indeed

Southeast Asia is also not a proper continent, but the Frontier still made the Southeast Asia pack. The North America pack is basically US-Canada pack, which does not have species that can be considered as icon for Central America (like sloth, Axoltol, New World monkey etc), although some species do live in Central America like Cougar, Bullfrog.

Preamble:

Due to my/our love of zoos and PZ, I want this time to last as long as possible and due to fan’s

Instead of getting DLCs only, I think we should get expansion pack every 9th or 10th DLC. For example the Europe Pack is 1.8. So we will get another animal pack DLC as 1.9. And then we will get a big expansion at 2.0. I think this will be able to extent Planet Zoo’s (PZ) game life for a long period. There are a lot of zoo aspects that PZ currently haven’t included yet; I think expansion packs will be able to add what mechanics PZ is currently missing.

A good example is City Skyline they included a brand new game play every DLC. Like Universities, Airport, and I think there is one for park and zoos. Or like the World of Warcraft (WOW) every whole number update is an expansion and all with decimal place is update with new raids or some smaller features. The game is 7 years old and still expanding. I want to use their DLC idea and turn into expansion for PZ. DLC for PZ should remain as an animal pack or themed pack. With all the Zoos, Aquariums, Ocean park, bird zoos and millions of animals to added, PZ can last as long as WOW or as least City Skyline.

What is expansion concept for PZ like (in my mind or wish)?

An expansion pack for PZ will introduce new game play and mechanics, so the aviary we’ve always wanted will fit into this category. Remember back in the days in ZT1 and ZT2? Expansions like Marine Mania new scenarios focus on sea life, new building props, new paths, animal shows (new feature), and of course new sets of animals. I think Frontier can do the same. More or less like a new game but can be combined with PZ (1.0)

What will the expansions be then?

2.0) Bird Park

Of course the 2.0 will be the all-time ant plated aviary. Honestly, just bird zoo alone can extend the life of PZ for a long time. So the aviary expansion back should have new features like hatchery, I guess similar to the Dino Dig research centre. I guess the hatchery works like animal trade centre, but we get eggs instead.

Most important features to add is the aviary, works similar to the ones like Jurassic World 2. Birds can fly freely, guest can walk-in aviary and predator only cages.

I think this pack to feature new birds exhibit, to show smaller birds. Or add various size editable exhibits. Like up to 6 times the height and up to 6 times the width and depth. This enable player to build a good looking indoor bird house that feature different birds. Seoul Zoo’s bird house or St. Louis Zoo’s bird house is a good example.

I think add a bird show is not too bad either because that helps enrichment the birds.

New animal of course will be more important, since this is an expansion I suggest giving players 30 new animals/ birds.

Since it is 30 new animals, I would like to like to separate into different category.

Between 2.0 and 3.0 will be DLC 2.1 to 2.9 (Theme packs and animals packs that contains land and air animals) these DLC should be biome focus.

3.0) Sea Life Park

What is it remaining after land, and air? Sea of course. I think it is a good idea to have because a lot of zoos have aquariums and sea mammals. For example, the London Zoo, and Berlin Zoo. So this expansion will be a mix of Mega Aquarium and Marine Mania. The expansion will include the aquarium building aspect from Mega Aquarium and the large sea mammal aspect of the Marine Mania.

The expansion will have new scenarios, building props, new paths, mostly lying focus on building something like Shred Aquarium, Beijing Aquarium or Ocean Park hk. Also introduce tank feature from the Jurassic World 2.

I would use the larger editable exhibit that introduce from 2.0, to host fishes. The large tank features for some whales, and traditional habitats for pinnipeds.

Since this is an expansion with Mega Aquarium and Marine Mania aspects, the will b 30 animals and will break into categories. Whales are for educational and conservational. NOT FOR SHOWS.

Again, there are tonnes for fishes to be included in the future. Growing of this game has a lot of room.

Between 3.0 and 4.0 will be DLC 3.1 to 3.9 (Theme packs and animal packs that contains land, sea and air animals) These DLC should be country focus.

4.0) Animal Hospital

What else can we include in a zoo? How about a world class animal hospital, every zoo has the best vet and hospital in a city.

This expansion will feature like Two Point Hospital but with real life animals’ illness and injuries. Players need to build rooms, pools, holding areas to treat different types of animals in the zoo or outside the zoo. Some animals from outside the zoo can be kept occasionally.

During the time you are building the managing the hospital, you wouldn’t be able to manage the zoo, as such a new feature is introduce, the Zoo Curator. You hire one only for a price, and he will run the zoo for you when you are managing the Hospital.

In terms of animals, I think this expansion probably have less, because by this time we have two expansions and 18 DLCs. I am sure there are more rooms for more haha. Since we have a lot of exotic animals, maybe consider some domestic animals too. Since animals hospital sees those the most.

I wouldn’t list them, but I think about 15, and small rodent should be in exhibit animals.

This expansion also features a functional animal backstage / holding area.

Between 4.0 and 5.0 will be DLC 4.1 to 4.9 (Theme packs and animal packs that contains land, sea, and air animals).

My last thought for expansion will be Disney’s Animal Kingdom (5.0), hotel and some rides is included. You know how Planet Coaster ended with something like Universal Studio. Maybe some updated and professional animal editor release afterward. This should being us to 2030.

Feel free to discuss and add, I really hope these ideas will be consider.
