A Taxonomic Revision For The Javan Rhinoceros

Javan and Indian rhinos are superficially very similar as illustrated by the following:

..... The last Javan rhinoceros to be exhibited in a zoo was housed in Adelaide Zoo between 12th April 1886 and 4th February 1907. For the twenty plus years it lived in the zoo, it was labelled as an Indian rhino and it wasn't identified as a Javan rhino until long after its death when its remains were examined in the Adelaide Museum....

so the proposal the Javan rhino belongs in a separate genus is very interesting.
