Hi everyone, I plan to visit Brookfield zoo before Christmas, but I see the map from the website that they do not show that open Habitat Africa! The Forest in this season, I just want to make sure about this situation and if it's means that I may not able to see pangolin, which is sad.

To be honest, I have had very mixed results asking zoos any questions over social media, especially about the collection. More often than not they just ignore the contact.

I think I've figured out the confusion here. I'm assuming this is the page you're talking about. The map you're looking at is for the zoos holiday magic event which runs during the month of December. There are no activities for the event located in Habitat Africa so it is not shown on the map. I can assure you that all of Habitat Africa is fully open, including the pangolin exhibit. Have a nice trip!

Hi everyone, I plan to visit Brookfield zoo before Christmas, but I see the map from the website that they do not show that open Habitat Africa! The Forest in this season, I just want to make sure about this situation and if it's means that I may not able to see pangolin, which is sad.

For the record, if you are hoping to see the animal feeding try to visit closer to 3PM. Some older threads suggest 4PM which used to be the feeding time on an official public schedule, but since the event is no longer on the official schedule keepers typically feed the animal earlier. I was told on my last visit it is essentially done whenever the keeper for the area is making their last visit for the day, which is sometimes slightly before 3pm.

My last visit I had planned for 3pm, then googled to double check and one of the 4pm references came up, so I waited and arrived too late.

I believe it is a different (and more active) animal in the exhibit now from when I went over the summer, but I managed to see a pangolin on both visits to the house, once curled up in the nest box and then with its head poking out. However, I missed the feeding. A keeper I talked to confirmed what @JVM has said above.

On my visit this summer I saw a very active pangolin at around 2:30.

Today's feeding was at 3:30PM - we were actually about to leave when the keeper showed. The pangolin woke up quickly and was still eating for several minutes, hanging by her tail. I drew some visitors over to watch when I had to leave. Took lots of photos.

The pangolin was fed sometime before 3:25PM on Saturday, but the pangolin was still moving and active about at that time. Posting in case this helps someone.
