Adding New Species to the Gallery!

Here's a whopping eight new species for the gallery, all from Frost Museum of Science in Miami!

Technically not "new" since I uploaded it last year, but this appears to be the only picture of a Giant Wrymouth (Cryptacanthodes giganteus) that is still on the site.
Unfortunately a little while after this pic, she passed away from a bacterial infection. To our knowledge at the Aquarium, she was the only one in a US Institution. The Vancouver Aquarium is the only Aquarium I know at the moment who still has one.

Of the fish species I saw at Tokyo's Sunshine Aquarium in November 2022, these five are new to the ZooChat gallery:

Here's nine invertebrates from Tama Zoo's insectarium collection back in 11/2022:

Here's a whopping 16 new species for the gallery, all from Adachi Park of Living Things in Tokyo, back in 11/2022!

Wow, dragonflies in captivity! No wonder this place never stood out too much on ZTL but still seems well worth a visit.

A potential new species for the gallery. The species was a recent split from T. popeiorum earlier this year, ranging from Yunnan, China to Laos and Thailand (Idiiatullina et al., 2024). It is worth mentioning that existing "Pope's tree viper" photos in the gallery might represent this species.

The first 20 of 29 additions from Enoshima Aquarium in November 2022!

The last 9 of 29 additions from Enoshima Aquarium in November 2022!

It seems Enoshima has been underrated on this site in comparison to the other Japanese aquaria, even for Japan it seems like quite the collection.

Apologies for the less than stellar photos of the animals in question (I was kinda just trying to do my best with a mere phone camera), but I believe these are the first photos of the Sonoyta pupfish and Sonoyta mud turtle in the gallery.

Starting today, hopefully I can contribute much in this thread and the diversity of species of ZooChat! Though I do like to ask, does subspecies count here as well?
