Please post any news regarding both breeds of Elephants within the European population here.

Can someone please enlighten me if there are any imminent changes planned for the Elephant heard that reside in Elephant Eden at Noah's Ark Zoo Farm?
Personally I hope that Noah's relocates some of their bachelors to become breeding Bulls. In return I would like Elephant Eden to house a multi-generational breeding heard as it was primarily built for.Elephant Eden is the biggest Elephant enclosure and most visitor and Elephant friendly enclosure built anywhere. In my opinion As a result of this coupled with the fact that Elephant 's are a rare species within the UK I think that housing a bachelor heard is wasting an ideal breeding facility.

In addition can you please tell me if any arrivals or departures are pending within Europe? I have seen on Zoochat that West Midlands Safari Park are expanding their Elephant enclosure and heard. Can someone please tell me which Elephants are joining the current Elephants and which collection they are moving from?

Kind regards The Hedgehog

This topic seems redundant. There are already two separate topics, both created over two years ago and very regularly updated, specifically for the Asian and African Elephant populations in Europe. What is the point of making a third, combined one, when there are two already well fleshed out forms to post in?

Either this one should be closed, or, less sensibly, the other two combined into one post including both species. However given that most of the animals are referred to by name as opposed to species, having two separate topics likely makes things easier for those less well versed on individual elephants names.
