At a guess - HowlettsAlso saw on a social media post from Hanover zoo in Germany there 2 young lioness born 2023 are expected to move to an English zoo any idea who could be getting more lions?
Noticed on a cursory look at Blair Drummond social media that they no longer have Reid. Murray and the 6 females are still mentioned. Might have missed a memo but unsure whether deceased of transferred.
Worth noting, YWP only hold one male, who is the son and sire of the new cubs.Just some updates from this year
- Wildheart (Isle of wight) announced their male White Lion Casper was PTS aged 18yrs
- Lincolnshire Wildlife Park announced their male White Lion Uganda was PTS aged 16yrs
- Big Cat Sanctuary successfully transferred in March the 1:3 remaining lions to the UK and are now settled into their new home
- Yorkshire Wildlife Park had an unplanned litter of 0:0:3 born in March, mum Ayassa was caught by one of her sons
- However YWP did have to PTS their last 0:2 of the original rescue lionesses Carla & Crystal in April. Both aged 18yrs
- Noah's Ark announced the death of Kojo, one of their male lions who's was born there in 2018. His father Masai(who died in 2023) was a brother to Louisa who was at Longleat.
- Announced today 14th May, Folly Farm have had their male Hugo PTS due to kidney failure
