The animals in Tiger Valley that are not moving to Pride of Africa will leave the zoo during Wild Asia construction. I expect Scruffy the sun bear will likely inherit Muffin’s retirement aparatment due to her advanced age, but this has not been confirmed.
The sheep are leaving the zoo. The barn area in Wild Prairie will once again become the goat retirement home. I will miss the sheep. They behaved better than the goats. I usually have to yell at them for being mean to other goats and the sheep.

The app version of Google Maps’ satellite image of the Akron Zoo has been updated to show the Pride of Africa construction area from earlier this year.

Akron Zoo: Come say goodbye to our sun bear, Scruffy, before Nov. 1. Scruffy will be heading to the Cleveland Zoo after Tiger Valley closes on Nov. 1 to begin construction on Wild Asia, a new expansion that is set to open summer of 2020!

Lions will go off-exhibit sometime in November.
Correction: It now states Tiger Valley closes on November 4th instead of the 1st.

The small area of Pride of Africa that goes behind the condor exhibit is for the retention pond. I wonder if they are making a bigger pond up there for future expansion.
