Also side question about Akron- Was the hospital always closed to the public? I swear you used to be able to go in but maybe I'm mixing it up with Cleveland's

There were windows to peek inside. I have toured it several times. When the new hospital opens, I expect it to be used for duck and geese hatching and rearing. They do a lot of that in there already.

Question: Is Wild Asia getting a Phase II? I swear I heard it and Africa were both getting one we've only heard about Africa

Wild Asia is getting a bird habitat. The new animal hospital is being built beside Wild Asia. There has been nothing about an actual expansion. If there is one, it would not be until the 2030s.

Should also be noted that the zoo transferred a (1.0) white-naped crane named Khing to Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo in Connecticut around November.

Help us welcome our new... - Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo

Coco the red panda left at some point because she was not getting along with her sisters, but I am not sure if it was early this year or last year. I would expect more red panda changes coming in 2024.

Kling and Yena are siblings. Not surprised. I saw two cranes when I was there for Wild Lights, but that was right before the Beardsley post.

The new swan is named Sakari.

The zoo got the Baron's racer this year too.
