On June 24th, 20-year old African Lion, Tallukah, died. She had been under medical care and treatment for cancer. A one-and-a-half year old Lion named Taj arrived at the zoo in late April and will be on exhibit later this summer. He might later get another Lion as a companion.
After a 1-year loan to another zoo, a Gaboon Viper is back on exhibit.
3 Fennec Foxes went on exhibit earlier this year.

An elderly male Andean Bear named Manny is new to the zoo and will spend the rest of his years in Alexandria.
A Bennett's Wallaby joey is starting to be visible from its mother's pouch.
