I always thought that I would be too afraid to go near any water in Florida, especially at night given the fact that there are Gators throughout the state. I can't believe that someone would go running into the water like that at night, even to escape the cops.

Same here. I guess statistically, you're not likely to get eaten by a gator, but I wouldn't want to do anything to put me in that position. There are plenty of gators in the wilderness areas where I live, but I don't find 'em in my backyard or anything.

When I was in middle school, we went on a field trip to a park with an observatory... During gator mating season. When the gators tend to be more aggressive. Considering how middle schoolers behave, I'm surprised they were smart enough not to bother them, ha ha.
