Alternate Future of the World

I declare war on San Marino. What happens now?

Because Italy is responsible for the defence and security of San Marino, and is a NATO member whose territory you would have to cross to access San Marino, you will probably trigger Article Five and now be at war with essentially the entire Western world :p

Forgot to mention, NATO, UN and other world alliances are not applicable in this scenario, so we can make it more interesting. So he can attack San Marino. Sorry for not making this obvious in my explanation.

NATO has disintegrated due to Donald Trump pulling the US out.
I've taken San Marino and declared it part of Italy. I fancied committing a few war crimes so had a look for some good ones on the UN list of war crimes, I settled for biological weapons but I've denied using them saying it's fake news that the capitalist nations have made up to discredit me.
My troops are now surrounding the Vatican City and I doubt those multi coloured jesters in the Swiss guard are going to stop me.
I feel I'm getting into this now, how am I doing?

What a horribly disturbing post. I get that you're just trying to create a fun game to play with members of the forum, but does fantasizing about world wars and genocide really belong on a forum about zoos and animals? I have no issues with off-topic community engagement, but a game that actively calls for world domination, slaughter, and horrid acts of war such as the use of biological weapons seems really inappropriate. Perhaps it'd be better to find out which members are actually interested in playing and then moving this over to one of those mapping games mentioned earlier.

Is this directed at me or somebody else? I have posted an explanation and I need to make something clear now.
You don't need to go into detail about the war. I will accept something like this:
'The Italian troops move into <insert location in San Marino here>

And don't forget, I have to roll the dice after a decision.

....does fantasizing about world wars and genocide really belong on a forum about zoos and animals? ....a game that actively calls for world domination, slaughter, and horrid acts of war such as the use of biological weapons seems really inappropriate.

I wholeheartedly agree; this sort of nonsense is totally inappropriate.

How did you decide this? :p
I don't fully understand what you mean, but I can explain the dice system. On post 16 I explained what you can do in a war situation. If you choose to move, raid or blockade I roll a dice.
If I roll a 1-3, that means it does not work. If it lands on 1, it goes horribly wrong. If it lands on 2, it moderately goes wrong and if it lands on a 3, it slightly goes wrong.

If i roll a 4-6, that means it works. 4 means it slightly works, 5 means it moderately works and 6 means it works really well.

I don't fully understand what you mean

You said you use a dice to make a decision, so I asked how you decided this :P

This has only caused confusion I feel tbh. Something like this is more suitable for thefutureofeuropes wiki or a mapping discord server it feels weird to see this on ZooChat of all places.

Or you could just play EU4 lol

I have reasons using ZooChat
1. I am not very familiar with the futureofeuropeswiki
2. Mapping discords would make the game more complicated than I want it to be.
3. ZooChat would allow more user interaction and enjoyment while not being drained by information about military size or something like that.
4. I am more familiar with ZooChat and find it a nice community which is unique to other online communities.

but does fantasizing about world wars and genocide really belong on a forum about zoos and animals?

I mean, should we even be fantasizing about these things at all? o_O

*I know that we don't have to go into details about war, but still, I don't really think it belongs here.

3. How much interaction and enjoyment are we seeing right now?

4. I think the fact that people on ZooChat are generally more civil and 'nice' is due to a set of norms that were established and have been quite fiercely protected. Although it can't really be said that people here behave as if they are talking in real life, in general on the internet accepted standards of discourse and courtesy have degenerated to a far lower level. It might be argued that our shared passion for zoos helps keep discussion elevated.

Zoo Cafe was created to provide off-topic space on the site which generally encourages community. It has always been mildly controversial in that some members would much rather all forum discussion was on-topic, but generally speaking I think most people appreciate its presence. The reason this thread is getting negative pushback, in my eyes, is that it seems symptomatic of a recent trend of increased off-topic traffic. In as much as a reasonable person might say 'There needs to be a balance' it feels like that balance has been lost.

To be honest, I agree with your points. I have provided explanations but I now need to establish a rule.

NEVER go into detail in a war situation. It has obviously disturbed many including myself so please abide ny this rule.

As I have said in an above post, it is now a rule so nobody goes into detail in a war situation.
