We visited here on 24/09/2025 for the first time, as part of our zoo-trip in Norfolk. 4 Nights at Caister-On-Sea, 4 animal parks to visit.
It's a really nice location, lots of greenery, and the park is kind of like in the forest which makes it all feel more natural I think.
Before you even enter/pay you can already see Black-Necked Swans and Agouti's.
There's arrows you can follow, but since all the cats were directly to the left (and in the wrong direction) we went to have a look at all the cats first.
They have signs up with most animals, with all their names and favorite foods, which I thought was fun.
Jaguar, Puma, Ocelot and Jaguarundis.
One of the highlights was the Jaguarundis, which we hadn't seen anywhere in a long time.
We noticed the rounded enclosures here too, like we did the day before at Thrigby Hall.
Quite a few parrots to be seen, all such pretty colors.
There was a sign that said there are free roaming Mara's, so keep an eye out for them.
There seemed to only be 2 Flamingo's, but with mirrors who were placed in such a way it looked like infinite. As we learned when we went to Colchester last March, why they use the mirrors.
The Southern Screamers were quite active and we heard them "scream" too.
The American River Otter was a new kind we hadn't seen before. She's got quite the enclosure just for her, like a natural little lake.
We spotted most of the Mara just lying around near the tropical house. Which I started to enter, and I knew there were spiders to be seen, but there were the summer free-roaming ones too as soon as I walked in. Very sorry, I am absolutely petrified of them, and this summer has been an absolute hell for me, so after taking 2 steps inside, I walked back out. The boyfriend went in and saw everything there was to see in there. I waited at the end, and did see the sign for their Spider Monkey that had recently passed.
Boyfriend comes out and says there's Tamarin just by the exit, but nope, I had no desire to go inside, but it's fine, I'd seen the Tamarin elsewhere already too.
I think the only animal we didn't see at all here were to Coati.
And then it looked like that was kind of it. Very small place.
So we made our way back to the beginning and had some lunch. We did want to see the Otter talk, as we weren't able to spot her yet, and hoping they'd feed her during the talk.
Had some lunch, quick look at all the cats again, and then to the Otter talk, and they were feeding her, so that was nice we could all see her really well.
After that we did another loop of the entire place, and then just went back to all the cats.
They were all either walking around or lying in a visible spot, so that was nice. And we spend about 1,5 hours going back and forth them all before we actually left.
It was a really nice place for a one time visit, if we would live nearby then obviously worth it just for their cats, hehe, but we don't feel we would want to go back soon looking at the park in its entirety.
