America's Top 100 Zoos & Aquariums book

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of America's Top 100 Zoos & Aquariums? I have searched all over for a copy in the United States and can't find it. Is there going to be a second printing?

I am the co-author of the book in question and we sold every copy from the first printing. I know that's a pain because sometimes when zoo books are completely sold out then they are only available at astronomical prices via eBay and other private sources.

You can ask @Tim Brown if there is a single copy left to purchase, as he handles the U.K. distribution, but there likely will not be a second printing.

Unfortunately they will not ship to my address in the United States. I don't know anybody in the UK who could buy it for me then ship it. I have asked around to some of the zoo staff but have had no replies. I will continue to look on ebay and used book sellers like Alibris.

Thanks
Just a thought. I belong to IZES. I know you are very involved with IZES, so could they buy like 5-10 copies and put them on their store? Mark them up so there is a benefit to IZES. If you've sold out then I am sure there will be others interested. Just an idea, for selfish reasons.

Okay Ivan, sorry for the delay in reply..ive been away and dont do emails from my phone. We HAD totally sold out of the book, but an American zoo renaged on a deal to buy the last three copies..so its available again. Unfortunately its costs as much as the book itself to mail to the U.S. but if I say it myself its the only serious guide to U.S. zoos there has ever been. Email me directly at raresoulvinyl@btconnect.com and i will sort out the best rate for you. We must remove it from Amazon as they/we cannot supply (and good luck to anyone selling through them -as a purchase source its great, but as a vendor of a few things its a nightmare I want out of !).

I've been interested in this book for some time as well. Are the other copies still available, and if so, would it be okay if I emailed you as well? I'm also US-based and don't think the shipping price would be a concern. No worries either way.

Hi Tim,
I totally get the shipping price. I am very am very excited and actually bought 2 copies. I have a friend at the St. Louis Zoo, Missouri and I may give one copy to her.

If you get a chance I would be very interested in you thoughts on my blog:

BTW is that a raccoon dog as your photo?

Glad you said that Ivan...was beginning to think you had made a mistake. So thats it now...totally sold out (again). Many thanks to all who supported the project.

Also Ivan,I took a look at your blog and i was impressed that someone could put that amount of effort into a love of zoos. Its great that its aimed at kids because im sure that most zoochatters found their zoological interest as chidren...I know I did! ! And the old adage that "a picture is worth a thousand words" is certainly a strength of your reports, its something the printed word finds difficult to keep up with, and that will appeal to children. I wish you every success with it in future weeks, months and years. I just visited my 943rd different zoo, with hopefully 4 new ones next week - it will be quite a blog if it ever gets to those numbers ;)

Totally sold out im afraid..there wont be another run unfortunately. Ill ask the book designer if he has a PDF - i don`t ! Thanks for your interest anyway.
