Amur Leopards in Europe

I was in Monde Sauvage in Aywaille (Belgium) today and I saw a couple of amur leopards living together quite passionately. In my database I have only one male there: Teva, born in YWP. Does anybody know the identity of the female?

She is Samara and was born at Twycross in 2016. She left for Monde Sauvage in 2021

Bellewaerde Park Belgium had 2 cubs born back in May 2016.
Sorry, it's old news, but I didn't spot it in this thread.
Esra and Zyra.

On instagram I read a male amur leopard left Kopenhagen for a zoo in Japan. Does anyone know which animal left for Japan and which animals still are in Kopenhagen?

There are three Amur leopards in Korkeasaari Zoo, Finland.

Inga (f) from Wienna Zoo (arrived 2020, born 2018)

Timba (m) from Moscow (arrived 2021, born also 2018)

Takara (f) from Sweden (arrived at spring 2023, age unknown)

Takara and Timba are hoped to be a breeding couple.

Link is unfortunately only in Finnish

I have a Takara noted as being born at 24 June 2010 at Leipzig and moving to Parken, Sweden on 20 May 2011 - she would be an "older female" as mentioned in the article at the link.

Freddo (1:0, born 2014 at Tallinn zoo to Darla & Freddie) is moving from Bellewaerde in Belgium to Dartmoor zoo. Dartmoor are currently searching for a suitable breeding partner for Freddo.

Do not know, just per chance I can offer this information which is relatively new on the status of Amur Leopards in Japan.

What is known on status of Amur Leopards in Japanese zoos.
15 animals, 10 facilities [Updated on July 3, 2023]:
Asahiyama Zoo (1 animal)
Utsunomiya Zoo (1 animal)
Tobu Zoological Park (2 animals)
Yokohama Zoo Zoorasia (2 animals)
Ishikawa Zoo (1 animal)
Oji Zoo (3 animals)
Asa Zoological Park (2 animals)
Fukuyama City Zoo (2 animals)
Omuta City Zoo (1 animal)

If someone can unpick the demography chart in Japanese that would be awesome.

I guess there are quite a few options for pairing up leopards in breeding pairs. An uninformed guess has it that zoos with breeding pairs are Fukuyama City Zoo, Hiroshima Asa Zoo, Oji Zoo (possibly bred), Tobu Zoological Park and Yokohama Zoorasia.

I opened the website (and some links) on my smartphone and let him translate it in English. I found this information.

Thank you for that. The hands-off approach I presume, as there is nothing that I can see on their website or map about them.
That's good to see :) Rewilding is surely a tricky job!

I had wondered if this project was dead in the water. Surely a serious behavioural-rewilding project for carnivores would be difficult to navigate in this country legally, due to enclosed leopards needing live prey to learn hunting skills. Perhaps it would've been better sending the cubs to China or Russia when they were 6 months old or so, where those barriers don't exist?

Zoo Leipzig received a new male amur leopard called Checco. He came from Parco Zoo Punta Verde in Italy. Anyone knows what happened with the previous male Xembalo?

He is born on 16-06-2015 in Tierpark Parco Faunisto La Torbiera in Italy. His brother Giuseppe lives now in San Diego.

Xembalo is currently behind the scenes.

Giuseppe went from San Diego to the Exotic Feline Breeding Compound in Rosamond, California until it closed in February 2023. He then moved to the Toledo Zoo in Ohio with Bella, who he was paired with at EFBC.
