Longleat Safari & Adventure Park Animal Adventure

Got a reply today, only a day after I sent my e-mail. Apparentley Pets Corner will be closed next season to be turned into a 'mini-safari', and although work has started on it there is no confirmed opening date yet. All stock in PC has now been moved to Animal Adventure, and I guess it confirms my suspicions that PC will hold smaller exotics with AA keeping 'tamer' animals.

Either way, it is a shame to lose such a charasmitic part of the Park that has stood for since the 'Lions of Longleat' opened in 1966.

Mini safari?, sounds intriguing, instantly i am seeing meerkat, pocupine, yellow mongoose, Kirk's dik dik and so on, maybe even their warthogs too.
ONLY MY OPINION!

I would love to see the Warthogs move to the empty pig yards near the boat, but obviously with an extension. I never have time to visit them when I go, and have never seen them properly.

I'm looking forward to this mini safari. Should be good. But I wouldn't want to see the meerkat or porcupine move from where they are at the moment.

I remember reading Red Pandas and Lemurs were gonna be a part of Animal Adventure (most likely wrong on this), but I can't see where they'd go. Maybe they'll go here.

Ever since meeting Pedro at Exmoor, I have always loved Armadillos. I had to clean him out a couple of times, and he was brilliant fun during this. I could have spent hours with him. A great addition to Longleat. :)

I don't know if this has been reported, but ISIS are now showing a male giant anteater at the safari park

They were advertised in the AA adverts, though I've no idea how they'll fit...

Great news, but I thought they were getting tamanduas! :p

I was going to say, I thought that the use of their picture on the ads were a mistake. At least, that's what I remember reading on here. Strange, but nice to hear that they have one. I would love to see it live in the old pig enclosure across from the boat queueing area, albeit with an extention.

Does anybody know where it came from?

Purely speculation but Colchester have/had a young male Anteater called Silva who was apparently due to go to Hammerton Park in Cambridge several months ago but for some reason he never left! I wonder if it's him that Longleat have obtained?

Could be. I thought maybe the second male at Marwell might have left, given that I only saw one on Sunday. Again, all speculation, and I doubt very much this is so.

Typical though, isn't it? Animal Park gets axed and then Bam! a load of changes are made that would have made decent stories for the show. I'm really missing it now it's gone.

I have just recieved comformation from Colchester Zoo that they still have Silva so we can rule him out.

Then I 'spect it might've been 'Antonio' from Marwell who went then if you didn't see him; I'll know for definite by Sunday.

Well I didnt look extensively hard, but one was asleep by the window, and there was no other outside or in what I could see of the second indoor area. That would have been a quick move, though.
