A trip to Queenstown may be in order for the long to-do list (but very expensive). The butterfly house is definitely doable, and even if I don't see scorpions it'll still be fun. The closest Antips to you would probably be at Queenstown. They did have them at the aviaries in Invercargill but I haven't been there for a really long time so I don't know if they are still there or not.
