That's a unusual escapee! I'd be curious to know how the elephant managed to get out.

It's on the link. The enclosure is backed by a low "rock quarry" wall and the elephant simply went up it to the bank on the top. I guess the zoo didn't know elephants can climb.

Something wrong with the driver there to hit first the man and then the young kangaroo deliberately. Though "three-foot fence" and "kangaroo" aren't a good match...

I just visited this collection and the kangaroo is still only behind a three-foot fence...

Last time I visited Kingdoms of the Night a keeper came into the springhaas exhibit and started cleaning. She forgot to close the door and one of the springhaas jumped outside into the hallway.
