Animal LIberationists!! >:(

@moreton:
Good idea: help improve living conditions in existing animal husbandries & raise social awareness of the necessity of habitat protection and cooperating ex- and in-situ programmes

Bad idea: writing childish, crime-promoting and misanthropic posts in a forum full of reasonable zoo supporters.

So it's OK to keep a Blue-throated, but not a Blue-and-yellow Macaw in a cage, because the one is more endangered than the other? "Interesting" approach...
"not thinking the plan through and hurting more animals than you tried to protect." Would be better if You adhered to that...

Dont you know we are all vegan PETA members here. :rolleyes::D

This is an obvoius troll as it is a very old topic. If this individual was at all interested in the welfare and conservation of species I am sure there would have been a more recent post worth comenting on.

Good idea- torturing all humans torture animals.

Bad idea- keeping animals in cages (except extremely rare species that should then be returned to the wild).

Good idea- releasing all animals held against their will, no matter what crimes you commit to get them out or what "humans" suffer in the process.

Bad idea- not thinking the plan through and hurting more animals than you tried to protect.

It always amazes me that treatises such as this contain nothing about protecting wild animals in wild places. So much concern about un-caging animals and so little concern about their state in the wild world suggests to me, at least, that the writer has little regard for the welfare of animals, but instead simply hates confinement. I would hate to be confined myself, but there are bigger issues, I think.
