I have really enjoyed geomorph's list of species at the San Diego Zoo and I thought some people might be interested in what animals are at the Toronto Zoo. This isn't an exact list and some species may be left out or not at the zoo anymore. It is fully based on my memory so if anyone has any corrections please tell me.

The only major species without outdoor exhibits are the orangutans, gibbons, lemurs, and pygmy hippos.
 
The unknown species could be Pumpkinseed Sunfish, but I'm not sure. Any photos?
Either way, very interesting list! :D I'v been rather wanting to see an updated list on all the zoo's animals for quite a while.
 
Sadly we all know we cant rely on the zoo to provide that. We are lucky they put promotions and the right admission price on the site.

A species that I forgot to put on the list for Indomalaya is the pekin robin. They have a small exhibit outside the pavilion.

There was still one, a male named Makepeace, at least in the spring or summer. Ungulate gave us the name when they posted the names of all of the critters in the Australiasian pavilion. And if we cant trust Ungulate to give us the most accurate info available who can we trust.

I dont remember seeing it but maybe because we are down to one and it might be old its being held off display.
 
Are the Scarlet-headed Blackbirds and Purple Gallinules no longer in the first America pavilion aviary?
There are also Black-throated and Red-winged Laughingthrush in the Indo-Malayan pavilion, as well as Black-breasted Thrush (at least they were there last year)...they're kinda scattered around though, so a bit hard to actually keep tabs on as to whether they're actually still there or not.
Are the Dyeing Poison Dart Frogs no longer exhibited at Toronto?
I'm not 100% sure, but I'v not seen the Pekin Robins on exhibit in a while. Has anyone seen them in the enclosure recently?

I haven't seen either of those bird species in the Americas for a long time now.

I included the black throated laughing thrush on my list but I haven't seen the other species.

I don't think the zoo has dyeing poison dart frogs anymore. A species I did forget to include are splash back poison dart frogs.

I saw the pekin robins a couple months ago.

Im fairly sure I saw the purple gallinules when I was there in the spring... however that was months ago and you two go far more often then I could ever hope to go. Things could have changed.

Thank you for the compliment. I'll try to regularly update the list, especially when the new Eurasia Wilds opens next year.
 
According to the new interactive map on the zoo's website the species of arachnids in the African Caves and Burrows section are emperor scorpions and giant baboon spiders. It also lists zebra doves as being in both the Malayan Woods and Indomalaya pavilions. I haven't seen them in a while, so can anyone confirm if they're still there. Another species I forgot to list that lives in the Amphibian Conservation area in the Americas Pavilion is the granular glass frog.
