Chimpanzees
Tapirs
Anteaters
Capybara
Meerkats
A good insect collection
Pygmy hippos
Sloths
Foxes
Snow leopards
Jaguars
Can you list what other species Columbus Zoo doesn't have?
 
There may be upwards of 30 million species on the planet. I'm guessing that Columbus (and every other zoo) probably doesn't have most of them.

Notably they did have the last African forest elephant in North America.
 
Cosi (Bud)? Wasn't he there as recent as 1990? I found out just after I had posted something about a dream- forest elephants in the Congo
 
I guessing we're listing notable animals that have often displayed in zoos, that Columbus doesn't have, right? I'll add the species that I think are oddly missing/ the ones I think they should have;

African Elephants - Would be great to see both Asians and Africans in one zoo. If it was gonna be anyone I feel like it would most likely be Columbus given the land/space they have, not being city blocked and all.

Small Cats and Meerkats - Caracls, Servals, Sand cats, Black footed cats… The smaller cats could fit into the Heart of Africa exhibit nicely. I really liked HofA but I feel like it wasn't very animal focused. To me it had way too many gift stalls and food stands taking up space where they could have displayed more up close exhibits. I would add the mentioned small cats in two rotation exhibits. Servals/Caracals in a medium netted-in exhibit and a smaller area to have Sandcats and Blackfoots. Also it seems really weird they didn't add meerkats to in the final steps of it all by the end, so I would add those too.

Clouded and Snow Leopards - Really hope they renovate the old lion enclosure and add other asian cats to Asia Quest. I would really like to see their Amur Leopards with Snows and Cloudeds all in one area. Like a mini Cat Canyon most zoos have for their tigers and lion but this one displays the medium cats and has exhibits that have more vertical area for climbing. I think it would be cool to see the three most common "leopards" all in one region/area.

Condors and Sea Eagles - Other flight cage species could go with the Americas with the Bald Eagles.

Wallabies
Almost every zoo with Australian animals have these, but Columbus doesn't have emus or wallabies.
Bactrian camels
Cassowaries
Giant pandas
New World monkeys

I believe the point of this thread is young Cloudedleopard's misguided attempt at upping his post count.
 
I was just joking about thylacine. Anyway, it was about Columbus Zoo because they have most of the classic "zoo animals" now.

Indeed - especially considering he has managed to get his post count increased by almost 150 posts in the mere month since posting the following admission that he wants to get as high a postcount as possible, as fast as possible!

Take note of this friendly warning, cloudedleopard; posting whatever you can think of for the sake of a mere number is not a good idea - in point of fact it comes close to spamming. And of course, it is counter-intuitive for your intended purpose, as myself and the other moderators can and will delete any posts that cross the line into spamming.
 
This thread has been getting too much negative feedback. The point was not to spam. The point was to list animals that Columbus Zoo does not have; because they have a lot of common (like elephants, lions, giraffes) and rarer animals (okapis, wombats, kudu, etc.) Can a moderator please close this thread?

I think the issue is that you never specified you meant common zoo animals, you just said animals,and since there are millions, with more being discovered all the time, however I think/hope most of us know what you meant.
 
WHY WOULD THEY FORGOT MEERKATS. DONT EVER FORGET THEM OR EVERYBODY WOULDNT LIKE COLUMBOUS ZOO
