This was the best forum I could find for this thread. have you seen any animals in games non zoo related? Post down below!

To start off with:

Guira cuckoos in HITMAN 3's Mendoza level, '' The Farewell''

Mugger crocodile in Far Cry 4

Yellow and black dart frogs can be found in several missions across Hitman 1 and 2.

Crabs and Boars could be found Fortnite not too long ago

Minecraft has many animals and subspecies. The most interesting of which, which most people assume is a fictional variant or just a color more despite having their own population is the qinling (brown) panda. In bedrock there are “spawn events” used with commands and this is the only way to get specific variants. They are named after various real life animals such as blue tangs and yellow tangs, snappers and groupers.

In plants versus zombies they’re a few albeit somewhat inaccurate ice age fauna and holocene extinction fauna such as dodos and mammoths in the ice age level.

Ahh, yes! And Minecraft also features American bullfrogs and grey foam nest tree frog.
I’ve theorized the normal frog is a cane toad despite color differences as it is similar. Also, we could have gotten delta pink hong kong dolphins, chinese alligators and more in the chinese vote.

Cave spiders can be interpreted as african cave spiders though they seem more like a fictional mc creature. Also, dromedary’s feature in the game. I believe before the bat model change I believed the bat was a brown bat *little not big species* but it might change.

Most fishing and hunting games do have animals often kept in zoos, though probably not in the context we want them to be in lol

Red Dead Redemption and especially its sequel has lots of animals that look and behave close to their real-life counterparts, including Gila Monsters, Roseate Spoonbills, American Black and Grizzly bears as well as many others.

Metal Gear Solid 3 : Snake eater lives up to its name as you can capture and eat snakes including Coral snakes and Reticulated pythons. It also allows you to hunt and eat birds, reptiles, inverts, fish, markhor and gharial? I confess I've never actually played the game

In Gibbon: Beyond the Trees, you play as a non-specified species of gibbon and brachiate your way throughout a non-specific Southeast Asian country. This one is on my wishlist.

In Webbed you play as a peacock spider (Maratus sp.), while I don't think this is an animal ever kept in zoos, in the game your mate is captured by a Satin Bowerbird.

In Stray you play as a domestic cat who attempts to escape a post-apocalyptic city that was walled off from the rest to the world. You help out friendly robots while dodging mutated bacteria and security drones along the way.

In Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, there are several interesting animals, including okapis!

The Far Cry saga is also known for its hunting feature, which means you'll have plenty of wild animals to kill and skin while you play the games. Loved Far Cry 4, personally.

There are multiple real life lego animal figures that appear in the lego video games as well as some that only appear in the lego video games.

Multiple games on popular sites like roblox let you experience life as avians, prehistoric mammals or life on the african savanna.

In world box there are many domestic animals such as sheep and subspecies and species unspecified animals that are wild such as monkeys and hyenas and their enemy the lion.

I’m not sure if this counts, but tap tap fish’s whole game is about growing this rock and collecting corals, inverts and fish. It’s implied to be in the ocean as multiple species there are too big to be kept in captivity, so I’m assuming this does not take place in a captive setting.

Giraffe briefly appear in a tear-jerking scene in The Last of Us.

They're in the TV Show as well. Interestingly enough, the Giraffes in that scene were actually real! Everything else in the scene? Apparently CG.

The Giraffes call Calgary Zoo home when they aren't making appearances in television series based on successful video game franchises, lol.

I know that this is a farm related game with farm animals in it, but in the iPhone game "Hay Day", there is a random wildlife sanctuary in the town section that has several zoo animal species like hippos, giraffes and elephants.
