Animals you saw today

You really need to visit Queensland. You would probably see those two species before even leaving the airport. :p

I can also give you some reliable spots for tawny frogmouths and snakes.

I have been to queensland but I was really young. I've been to the Gold Coast three times and Brisbane on a day trip from the Gold Coast. Yes i've been on the ferris wheel in Brisbane.

Also a couple birds have decided to make appearances outside my window, a pair of Eurasian blackbrids, a spotted dove and a little wattlebird. (not all at once).

I saw a gannet flying over my house, thats definitely new...

A few days ago a pair of mourning doves sat outside my window. I also saw some robins and yesterday I saw two black vultures, a bald eagle, and a raptor I think was a young eagle.

Saw a harbor seal and a couple california sea lions today. Also was able to identify a couple great blue herons. Saw a couple more bird species but couldn’t identify them

I saw a pair of Pale-headed Rosellas (Platycercus adscitus) today. Most of the time I only see them in flight - a chattering flash of gold, blue and red: Pale-headed Rosella | BirdLife Australia In the early hours of the morning, I was also pleased to see there is now a Common Ringtail Possum living in the backyard. I haven't seen one in the local neighbourhood for quite a while.

Lucky Northerners, not only are they allowed to go outside but they also have easily seen rosellas.

Today so far I have only seen common mynas and European starlings.

I was in Madera Canyon this morning (spent last night), so I saw more animals today than usual. These include white-tailed deer, wild turkey, Arizona gray squirrel, Arizona woodpecker, acorn woodpecker, Arizona jay, black-headed grosbeak, white-breasted nuthatch, rufous hummingbird, black-chinned hummingbird, broad-billed hummingbird, elegant trogon (briefly flying over), turkey vulture, plus various unidentified lizards and songbirds.

Yesterday, just the same juvenile female squirrel, a few Great and Blue tits and a raven. London is dull :D

Do you get wild Ravens frequently in London? Here in the Netherlands Ravens are rather scarce outside a strongholds (all in relatively large nature reserves). In fact, the pair in my local patch was the only breeding pair in the entire province until a few years ago.

Here's what I saw today in terms of birds:
Grey Heron
Great Egret
Eurasian Spoonbill
Common Moorhen
Common Coot
Mute Swam
Gadwall
Mallard
Tufted Duck
Greylag Goose
Canada Goose
Egyptian Goose
Common Buzzard

Great Cormorant
Black-headed Gull
Lesser Black-backed Gull
Herring Gull
Northern Lapwing
Little Ringed Plover
Common Sandpiper

Great Crested Grebe
Common Swift

The coolest things I saw today were a Red-tailed Hawk being attacked by a Red-winged Blackbird, an Osprey, lots of American White Pelicans, my first Baltimore Oriole in about a month, a Ruby-throated Hummingbird, 3 White-tailed Deer fawns, a Woodchuck, and my first Goldenrod Soldier Beetle of the year.

Wow, that must have looked like the battle from Endgame with all those animals attacking the Red-tailed Hawk!
