Animals You've Seen That Few Zoochatters Have Seen

I feel like Tuatara would be the "most seen" out of those three, simply because they are kept at zoos like Chester and Berlin so a majority of European Zoochatters have probably seen them.
Not Saltwater Crocodile? I can't think of a zoo I've visited without salties, but maybe that's just an Australia thing.

My favorite were the giant deep-sea isopods (Bathynomus giganteus) and elephant fish (Callorinchus milii).
Bathynomus is a weird one, very common in Asian aquariums but rare elsewhere (although seemingly increasing in the US?). Rarity may depend on which specific species you're talking about, most Asian aquariums have B. doederleinii (but surely some must also have B. giganteus?)

Callorhinchus milii is a rare species no matter where you are, and I'm a huge sucker for them :p

I've seen Salties Aroud too i guess Down Under they are common but up there they are shight to behold

My thinking on the subject went thusly :

Saltwater Crocodiles are super common in Australia and Asia but the number of Zoochatters who live in or who have visited Australia or Asia is relatively few (the vast majority of Zoochatters are from the UK and USA), and in Europe and North America the species is uncommon and mostly not in the big-name zoos (looking at current holdings, Stuttgart would probably be the most-visited one of the holders in Europe).

Conversely, while Tuatara are very rare outside New Zealand, they are kept at Chester so a majority of UK Zoochatters will have seen one there (I'd wager more UK Zoochatters have seen Tuatara than Saltwater Crocodile, even though the latter is kept at more zoos in the UK than the former).

I'm not sure my reasoning holds up, mainly because I thought fewer zoos kept Saltwater Crocodiles in Europe and North America than do in reality.

The saltwater croc at Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium was pretty large and fairly active too, I got a few great pictures. It was such a great experience to see one this close. I dunno when I’ll ever make it to Australia so I will more than take it if they’re rare here haha.
