Newquay Zoo Another Rarity for Newquay

Basically I found this story on the newquay zoo website: News at Newquay Zoo

Which is yet another only one in the Uk for newquay, having the only black tree monitors in the UK.

Newquay is shaping to be a really amazing collection with many species not found elsewhere in the UK; such as Paca, black tree monitors, (until recently) black wildebeast and soon to be narrow striped mongoose (I mean mainland Uk). Not to mention rarities such as owstons palm civet, visayan warty pig, belted ruffed lemurs, kinkajou, merriams kangaroo rat

Oooh! Very nice. As you say, another great addition to a collection packed full of rarities. Don't forget the Hairy-rumped Agoutis, Cusimanse, Children's Python and Fossa as well. Some real gems.

Wow they're cool. Newquay is getting great!

It may be the only place exhibiting this species, but private keepers have been working with it for some time, these animals are fairly readily available captive bred privately now ;)

I'll admit I'd like to fill my lounge with them and bin the sofa and tv in exchange for a jungle :D
