has anyone heard any news about the baby langur? is it going O.K?

Funny you say thatas we now have a new baby boy langur who is being parent raised this time! He is super cute! Although I must say I'm a bit disappointed in you lot as it's been on display for 2 weeks now and no one noticed!!!

bout time someone mentioned it.

Great news!

Here is a newspaper clipping ... from Brisbane of all places! :D
(no disrespect, I just found it funny that only Perth and Brissie paper reported it ..., well as far as I could find).

Taronga Zoo welcomes baby orange monkey

Enjoy the read!

Yes it is great news but I just wonder where this species is going in Australia as I believe there is still only the ONE pair in the country so unless more are imported in the future it dont look so good for them

Are you sure there is only one breeding pair? ;) I feel someone needs to check Isis...

Ahh, so where did the other pair come from the. You are a tease Torie.:)

The baby and it's mother featured in the Herald Sun (here in Victoria) today. It didn't say much about the plight of francois langurs but was mostly about the new baby and the last baby being abandoned.

oh, that's terrible. I guess the next one will be taken for hand-rearing again then

Not necessarily. I expect if the parents look like they are caring for the youngster next time, it will be left with the parents but very closely monitored. Post mortem may reveal important clues as to what went wrong, and what to look out for next time.

Hi
does anyone know if they will be mixing all the langurs together or are they going to keep 2 separate groups.
