Any Beatles fans?

Ha ha! My Grandad saw them at Southport on the Please Please Me album tour in 1963 at the Floral Hall. He said to me that "you could've replaced them with cardboard cutouts and it'd have been the same" meaning they were boring with no stage presence! He also became more of a Stones fan after that night. It just seems crazy to think that there was a time when my Grandad, lazing in his arm chair with a wooly jumper on, was once in the same room as John Lennon!!!!!
My brother was 79 on November 2nd I cannot believe where the time has gone .One good thing about having a much older brother ,he took me to my first live concert when I was 14,canned heat and hear I am 54years later still a big fan
.

My older brother went to see the beatles at Worcester in 1963.When he came home my mum and dad excitedly asked him if had enjoyed himself, they were surprised when he answered NO.They asked why no he said all I could hear was screaming bloody girls, he became a Rolling Stones fan after that

I met a guy in Australia who had seen the Beatles on their 1964 tour and had the same experience. He said as a concert it was a complete waste of time because you couldn't hear anything over the constant screaming.

I have another friend who saw the Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl when she was a teen girl. She said that while they were waiting in line a guy who looked like Ringo came out to look at all of the action around where she was standing and talked to the girls. They excitedly asked if he was Ringo (he was), but he said no, his name was Richard.

I guess he was referring to his real name Richard Starkey

Ok switching the subject, what is everyone's favourite solo beatles album? For me it's All Things Must Pass everyday for it's excellent and varied catalogue of songs. Very re-listenable if you know what I mean. If I had to choose another for Lennon, McCartney and Starr it's Double Fantasy, RAM and Ringo.

I think its John Lennon and Imagine. I've chosen this album purely for its title track. The lyrics are just as relevant today as they were when it was first recorded
