Are there any updates on when the AquaZoo is due to reopen? A quick google search shows nothing (data allowances don't allow me to look in much depth), but I thought it was due to be reopen by now?
 
Renovation tooks a little bit more time. No exact date for the reopening is known yet, the webside only says Beginning 2016.
 
You're welcome. I'm curious how it will look like and which new species will be on display-I only know about Puffins, but no seals anymore.
 
In Nov. 2013 the Aquazoo closed its doors for a big renovation. Euro 12.880.000 were planned for this but in the meantime the costs have risen and risen and also the re-opening took a much longer time as planned.
Now the costs have risen to Euro 18.800.000 (!) and the re-opening is set to be take place at the end of September 2017.
 
Well, rising costs for projects are common for Germany. Think at Elbphilharmony in Hamburg or the long awaited but still not open BER-Airport. In Switzerland in the meantime... (New Gotthard tunnel, new exhibits at Zoo Zurich = Yes, we can!)
