Are Jaglions still around?

I'm not sure if this is the right thread, but I can't find one related to hybrid animals. So, I've been researching up on some big cat hybrids and remember two distinct Jaglions (male jaguar, lioness mix) from Bear Creek Sanctuary, known as Tsunami (male), and Jazhara (female). I only found one update on their website, sometime in october of 2022, that Tsunami had passed peacefully.

Although I never plan to go there, even if she were still around, I'm generally curious if there are any other known collections to obtain the Jaglion. Also if Jahzara the female is still around, as she's had no update leading me to believe that she's still there. I don't truly like the idea of crossbreeding such animals but the Jaglion is definitely one that stands out from the rest. Any info helps

I took a look at the facility's Facebook and Jahzara features in a post from April 28th of this year, so I imagine she's still kicking as of now (November, 2023). The website messybeast.com does mention a handful of other jaglions, along with jaguar/leopard hybrids, but none seem to still be alive as of 2023. I wouldn't necessarily be surprised if somewhere, especially in a private collection, another jaglion or two exist, but I doubt it. The world seems content, likely because of how common (and easier to breed, I'd imagine, given the similarity in size) lions and tigers are, with its ligers and tigons Hope this helps, though!

This definitely does! Glad to see that she's still alive and well. I too doubt that many, if any, Jaglions would remain after Zahara, but with the popularity of having such rare hybrids and species one could definitely be out there simply in someone's backyard, house, or private collection. Hey there! I stumbled across this feed and ironically I actually volunteer at the sanctuary in which Jahzara lives. I know I’m a bit late to this post but she is indeed still doing great! It’s actually her 18th birthday today as well! She’s a super healthy girl and is still very active for her age
