The event was filmed by video camera and footage obtained, not sure but could have been during the 70's or 80's.

I read about it in a popular science book about these fish called "A fish caught in time: the search for the coelacanth" by Samantha Weinberg.

I may have got it wrong though as I read the book quite some time ago.

I think you're referring to one which was captured in Indonesia and survived for something like 17 hours in a pool where it was filmed. (And maybe conflating it with the one captured and filmed in a lagoon in the Comoros for Life On Earth, which was in the 70s).

Yes, I think you are right there @Chlidonias , those do sound familiar so I think I'm probably mixing the two up.
 
Are there any Grolar or Pizzly Bears in captivity. I would assume most major Zoo associations would try to cut them off but it wouldn't shock me if there were species in unaccredited zoos.

I think Taps might still be alive, at Osnabruck?

Edit: There certainly wouldn't be any in anaccredited zoos.
 
are there any sheatbills in captivety any whare. i have chekt zootierliste and only find some old ones at london. ???

Numazu deep sea aquarium has kept the anglerfish Diceratias Pileatus

Yes, indeed there are but only within the range country (though I hope eventually some may reach Europe or North America for ex-situ).

These snakes are kept in several Brazilian zoos and institutions such as :

Instituto Butantan (very good breeding group, I counted about 5 on public display in their "serpentarium" and there are several kept behind the scenes too)

Sorocaba zoo (has 1 individual)

São Paulo zoo (I think they have 8 at the moment)

Belo Horizonte zoo (no idea how many)

Did Al Wabra end up getting any? The most recent thing I remember seeing was from a decade ago, when they were still trying to get approval to bring some orphaned ones to their facility after doing a lot of in-situ work. It's not on any of their held species lists.

I believe what I found is what you are referencing but they had photos saying they had some in their nursery.

He is, 17 years old meanwhile. Osnabrück is an EAZA zoo, the birth was an unexpected accident and they keep him until he dies but do not breed.
