Are These in Captivity? #2

Are Jungle Cats kept in any major zoos? I’ve heard of a few at roadside collections.

In the USA, only Conservator's Center and possibly Carson Springs have pure jungle cat left, with a few others having hybrids. Europe has a lot more holders but mostly smaller places. For example, in the UK it's Hoo Zoo and ARK Wildlife Park

Are giant huntsman spiders (Heteropoda maxima) kept anywhere, for example private?

Any cave fish other than Garra barreimiae, the Oman garra and Mexican tetra (Astyanax mexicanus) kept anywhere?

Some H. maxima were imported into the private trade, however there is some suspicion that they aren't true H. maxima but another undescribed species, so hobbyists are now just called it Heteropoda sp. or H. maxima "Thai Cave". So for now there doesn't seem to be any true Giant Huntsman in captivity, just a closely related species that was mistaken for it. The Thai cave species, it is unknown if they grow as large as the real Giant Huntsman as only juveniles have so far been imported.

I’m looking for places currently displaying the following fish in the USA, preferably on the East Coast:

Spiny Dogfish (Squalus acanthias)
Dusky Smooth-Hound (Mustelus canis)
Barndoor Skate (Dipturus laevis)
Clearnose Skate (Raja eglanteria)
Winter Skate (Leucoraja ocellata)
Bullnose Ray (Myliobatis freminvillii)
American Angler/Goosefish (Lophius americanus)
Atlantic Wolf Fish (Anarhichas lupus)

It seems like with the dogfish, a lot of aquariums have had them signed but no longer have them. Same for the skates besides Little Skate (Leucoraja erinacea).

Spiny Dogfish used to be a "go-to" shark for smaller facilities due to their size, unfortunately they just are not good with walls and many places stopped keeping them eventually and replaced with the far more suitable Chain Catshark.

New England Aquarium has some or all of the skates mentioned as well as a goosefish and I believe at least one wolf fish.

Seacoast Science Center has a pair of Little Skate and several institutions in Maine are looking to acquire the species. Woods Hole also breeds them so I'm betting there are a few on display in their aquarium.

The Maine State Aquarium is undergoing renovation but has interest in both goosefish and wolf fish for the future.

Several species such as a few Chinese species are found in the private trade, with over collection causing serious declines in wild populations.

Spiny Dogfish used to be held at Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in their large Puget Sound circular tank, but, as CMTM mentioned, these individuals would routinely have rough and injured noses due to collisions with tank walls - since the emptying of the former Aquarium and creation of the new one, I have not seen the dogfish nor do I expect them back unfortunately :/

A shame since they are much more interesting to look at in a nice aquarium than untangle from fishing line…

What about plain Mexican Tetras? I know the blind cave type are somewhat common, but are the normal kind kept?

Yes, Astyanax mexicanus (probably incorrectly identified as fasciatus throughout the world) is kept in captivity, quite commonly.
I’ve been trying Biotope tanks lately, and I think a group of Mexican tetras would be nice with more peaceful cichlids… where are they available for sale?
