Armadillos expanding their range to Washington DC and New Jersey?!

and Americans’ reluctance to hunt and eat them are also contributing factors.

They say that like it's somebody's fault.

Apparently the armadillos are projected to expand their range into more of the East Coast of the US. This article indicates that they are already in Kansas, which I did not know.

I've seen them dead on the road a few times.

I remember seeing them as long as 21 years ago in Wichita. It had been killed by a car but was still in really good shape so I brought it home and asked my mom if I could learn to do taxidermy....the look on her face was priceless!

So my dog can look forward to competition digging up the yard? Hooray

It would be really interesting to know if the armadillos have had any measurable effect on the ecosystems that they have been colonizing over the last century.
