Albuquerque Biopark Zoo (formerly Rio Grande Zoo) held the groundbreaking for their new Asia exhibit, scheduled to open in fall 2022: Mayor Tim Keller and ABQ BioPark Break Ground on Asia Exhibit — City of Albuquerque (cabq.gov)
Reid Park Zoo had their anticipated Asia groundbreaking halted (it was supposed to be March 2021). Some local residents protested at the zoo's expansion into the park. This caused the mayor and city council to put a temporary stop to the project and conduct a short term survey to look at various options. A new site (that will go north into a storage area instead of the planned west into the park) has been adopted. This will delay the project for at least a year while new architectural plans are drawn.

The dedicated exhibit page for Fresno Chaffee Zoo has a really nice video with artist's renderings at the bottom of the page. My only gripe is the narrator (in the otherwise professional video) mispronounces orangutan the way a lot of people do, by adding an extra g at the end.

Seems most of these Asian exhibits plan for bears (Sloth or Sun) and then don't end up having them.
