Does anybody have news about Kungrao from Kopenhagen? I asked the zoo in e-mail this week, that how is she and when she is expect her calf and they replied me Chin was born in the end of February... I also send them a reply that, I know Chin she is calf of Maha Kumari. I'm asking information about Kungrao. I didn't get any more reply...

When was it announced that she was expecting a calf? Did the zoo ever say anything official on it?

Yes correct. I read on a Dutch zoo forum that Diergaarde Blijdorp announced this in the magazine for season ticket holders.

And there is a picture of Sibu mating with Thong Tai. He sure didn’t wait long.

That would be correct and it seems to me like this has been the plan for quite some time. Sundara's daughters Indali and Riva will probably have turned 8 and 5 years old respectively by the time it is born so it will be nice to see them all look after the calf together once it is born in preparation for the two young cows becoming mothers themselves eventually with the next bull.

Sibu will stay in Artis for a year. It is intended that he will provide offspring with 7-year-old Sanuk. But he may also mate with Thong Tai and Yindee.

Sibu will stay in Artis for a year. It is intended that he will provide offspring with 7-year-old Sanuk. But he may also mate with Thong Tai and Yindee.

They have moved to Safari Madrid. The two brothers will stay together there in a new bachelor group. At least one more bull will join them next year, which is an adult bull to lead the group.

A specific zoo is not mentioned, but since Zoo Madrid only keeps Sumatran elephants and Sibu is not, I assume he will move to Safari Madrid.

I also have heard it could be thisiam. Reasoning behind that was that he has not successfully any cows at Rapperswil. Mekong has many calves already, mostly males.
