This is interesting. Luei at Lodz would take the 1994 litter from the intial 0:4 that founded the UK side of the program (Moti, Gir, Akela, Jamna) to 0:5. A large litter for a first time mum and it's suprising that all 0:5 lived given that the whole litter was handreared. Bruno at Lodz would have been the sibling of Bellamy (Went to Twycross and died at Rome in 2007) and Midas (Ex Paignton and currently at Moscow) Nice to know what happend to one of the 1996 boys from Chester too.

Gabriel the cub at London Zoo is now known as 'Maximus' You have him down as a female on the list!

Just had a thought, remember when they wanted Moti and Kamal to breed at Bristol Zoo (2008?) , well according to the list, they where half siblings!!

Any info found about 'Royal' at Edinburgh, what is his parentage from Helsinki?
 
Unsure, it just states his name as Maximus on the website with no reason for the change.
They probably came to the realisation that Gabriel wasn't the best name for a male lion!
 
Corrected the 'Maximus' thing - I wish zoos didn't change animals names, it makes it a lot more confusing.

I also think they should ban the names Asha and Chandra...
 
After three weeks I have finally been able to open the studbook and as a result Jade for the Chester 1994 litter has now been traced! As of 2006 she was in Moscow Zoo having left Chester for there in 1996.

This studbook is like a treasure chest!

Ok Sita at Mulhouse came from litter at Besancon in 2002 she had a sister called Baya? who went with her to Mulhouse. No idea what happend to her after 2006.

3 cubs born Chester 1996 were 3:0, names:

Asrok- Rhenen Zoo 97, Planckendael 98, Terra Natura June 2006 (died Novemeber 2006)

Rajesh- Rhenen Zoo 97, Koln Zoo 98

Chandra Rhenen Zoo 97, Planckendael 98 (still residing!), father to Iblis, Itar and the female

Naseek (Chester born 98) moved to Helsinki Zoo in 2003, HOWEVER died in 2004, so is not father to any of the cubs born there

Male at Le Pal is called 'Valentine' and was born 2004 at TWYCROSS (Khari X Kamal) , the female is called 'Sari' and was born 2004 at LODZ

Lodz Zoo female = Tycia, (born 2003 at LODZ)

Moscow Zoo female = JADE (born 1994 CHESTER)

Mulhouse Zoo female = SITA (born 2002 BESANCON)

Rome Zoo female = JADZIA (born 2002 TWYCROSS TO Khari X Kamal)

These are all from the studbook as of 31/12/2006. Not many will have changed. Some deaths of older animals may have occured ie: 1994 born animals, Jade maybe?

The studbook is very intresting, shows just what bad luck zoo's have had with cubs, with Dudley being top of the list!!

According to a post in the forum of the website zoonaute Kalindi at Magdeburg gave birth to two little ones on the 13th of May.

It is also stated that the three young ones that moved from Magdeburg to Rotterdam in 2009 are called Kiba, Kumari and Kiburi.

I suggest one of us contacts Neil Dorman again to try and work out who the breeding male in Helsinki is as it's clearly not Naseek.
