I assume we are using the standard definitions; North America for everywhere from Panama and the Caribbean North, and South America as Colombia South. Is it a species of Quetzal?

Thank you for this note.
Basically, with "North America" I use to mean USA, Canada and Mexico. I use the term "Central America" for Carribean Islands and the countries bteween Mexico and Colombia. And the remaining land "South America".

But hereafter we will use your reference as a standard to avoid misunderstandings.

Based on this, it lives in North America and yes, it is a quetzal species
 
Resplendent Quetzal. The definition I quoted is that used by the quiz site Sporcle; I don’t mind separating the seven countries of Central America, and the Caribbean countries as separate, so long as we are clear on the definitions used.
