Assiniboine Park Zoo Assiniboine Park and Zoo news 2008-2013

According to the article the entire zoo will be changed, and every single enclosure and every single building will either be renovated or demolished. Wow, that's going to be quite a change for this badly outdated collection. Many of the exhibits are from the 1930's, '40's or '50's, not exactly a time of innovative, naturalistic zoo habitats.

Saiga antelope! I don't think there's a very good chance that they'll ever exhibit that species of animal! Although, I suppose that you're allowed to dream a little when it comes to conceptual plans ;).

The rest of the collection seems much more realistic. From the plan I can see spaces intended for: caribou, muskox/arctic fox, seal, 3 public polar bear exhibits, 3 off exhibit polar bear spaces, some type of horse (?), brown bear, mountain goat, the aforementioned saiga antelope, ibex, asiatic lion, sea eagle, 2 tiger exhibits, takin, Przewalski's horse, wisent, camels, primates (indoor and outdoor), cats (indoor and outdoor), cougar, African animals (indoor and outdoor), Indonesian animals(indoor and outdoor), Madagascar (indoor and outdoor), 3 outdoor exhibits surrounding the tropical house, woodland elk, wolverine, grey wolf, porcupine, bald eagle, golden eagle, lynx, owl, otter, black bear/red fox, moose/sandhill crane, bison/pronghorn, prairie dog, badger, and swift fox. Did I miss anything or make any errors?

P.S. Thanks for the link ZooPlantMan

I dont know. None of the articles I found on it said where they came from. My guess was going to be Toronto but I honestly dont know. Do we have any two year old males in Toronto? If so then its stronger evidence they are from Toronto. I do know that we did have at least four males at some point with Phoenix being our breeding male and Nikolai,
Napolean and Ghenghis being young males. I just dont know their ages and the article never mentioned names.
