The heavy horse centre has a new member, 6 year old male Percheron Rival.
 
Considering the alternative names I'm not surprised York and Eli won hands down. Great news is $18000 was raised for the Polar Bear Rescue Team.
 
The Assiniboine Park Zoo’s two Asiatic lions will be moving to zoological facilities in England on the recommendation of the European Endangered Species Program (EEP). The twin brothers, Bhanu and Kamal, arrived in Winnipeg in the spring of 2012 from the Zoologischer Garten Magdeburg in Germany and have spent the last four years in Assiniboine Park Zoo’s Pavilion of the Lions exhibit.
Bhanu will move to the London Zoo next Wednesday and Kamal will be transferred to the Chessington Zoo in mid-March. Both facilities are currently home to female Asiatic lions and hope to successfully breed the pairs in the future.
Assiniboine Park Zoo is encouraging the public to visit the Zoo this weekend to say good-bye to the lions. Zookeeper talks have been scheduled for 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday where visitors can learn more about this exciting species.
 
For those interested there is a video on the zoos facebook page from Chessington World of Adventures Resort which has become home to lion Kamal. He has been introduced already to his mate Rani. It is hoped that they will breed shortly.
 
This is Princess, the only Clydesdale horse at the Zoo. She can be seen daily at the McFeetors Heavy Horse Centre.

Oh man I hope then with the new females arrival Toronto will do what's right for Juno and send her away to bond with this little female. They are the prefect age to introduce to each other. Juno needs this socialization.
 
The zoo has announced their former Asian lion, Kamal, has become a first time father to three female cubs at his new home at Chessington World of Adventures Zoo.
