Assiniboine Park Zoo Assiniboine Park Zoo News 2018

I have uploaded almost 150 photos, including 60+ of Journey to Churchill, into the ZooChat gallery. There are at least 5 photos of the brand-new Grey Wolf exhibit as well.

Within Assiniboine Park, but not connected to the zoo itself, was a century-old Conservatory that closed in early 2018 after falling into disrepair. A brand-new structure is being built, at a cost of $75 million, that will be called Diversity Gardens and it will potentially open in late 2020. A main structure known as 'The Leaf' will house two biomes, a walk-through butterfly area and a restaurant and therefore would probably fit into the classification of a 'zoo' to many enthusiasts. The Canadian federal government has contributed $35 million, the Provincial government has chipped in with $15 million, the City of Winnipeg has added $10 million and an additional $15 million is being raised via private benefactors.

According to this article, Diversity Gardens will take up 35 acres of space within Assiniboine Park and the main building will be 6,000 sq. ft. in size:
