General question: I wonder how the financial crisis in greece has in impact to the zoos and aquarias in that country. Are some institutions on the brink of closure?
As you can see in the " Trikala zoo " thread t ,here are some problems in greek zoos . Although most of the zoos here in Greece aren't owned by the govermnent so I think that's why zoos like Attica park don't seem to have major problems .
They'll be having the same problem accessing cash as anybody else in the country though. There's simply no money available for them to buy feed, pay staff etc. It's a grim situation.

Yeah I know exactly the situation as I live in Greece but what I am trying to say is that the owner of Attica park , for instance , is from a foreign country and thus he might have money in foreign banks ... Of course that's only a hypothesis ...
As far as I'm aware there's no way to get money from overseas into the country other than by bringing it in as cash. Are credit cards still being accepted anywhere or have they effectively shut down as well? Hope you're doing okay.
just bumping this interesting question.does anybody have any info on the white puma born at this zoo in 2011, making it 3 years old now. is it still alive? still at the zoo or transferred out? on display, what sex is it? have it's parents been paired to each other again and of so have any of their other kittens been white? is it leucistic or albino? sorry about all the questions, but aberrant animals fascinate me.
