I think outside (and even in native range country) captive hatchings of shingleback skinks are a very rare occurence (strange to think a good number of collections do keep the species ... for a good number of years).3 Leaf-Tailed Geckos(species not specified) and 6 Shingleback Skinks(one clutch of 2 and one clutch of 4) were born at the zoo. Audubon Zoo prides itself for having one of the best breeding programs for Shingleback Skinks in the US with 40+ babies born in 15 years.
the adults are on display, the babies of both species are kept bts.
