Australian Animals in UK Zoo's - via Zootierliste

There will be a number of Australian Psittacines in zoos that haven’t been listed above

Good to know. I didn't see one at Welney. Be good to know if that's the only one that doesn't have it. I haven't been to the London one...is it good?
I am a Londoner so visit the London Wetland Centre quite often as it's an easy journey for me.

It is an attractive site which provides good opportunities for seeing wild native species. I always enjoy my visits (although I prefer both the Slimbridge and the Arundel sites and wish the London branch had a larger collection of exotic waterfowl).

My thoughts exactly. An excellent place to see wildlife, which considering its relatively central location and how scarce such sites are in London, is greatly appreciated, but the captive collection is mediocre, especially compared to Slimbridge. Would love to see some aviaries (so far as I recall, what little they have in terms of captive birds are all pinioned in open-topped enclosures) with a wider selection of birds and perhaps an amphibian collection of sorts in the entrance building, which definitely has the space for it. But even as it stands, it is a perfectly enjoyable collection and worth a visit.

Thanks both, I used to live in Barnes so it is a bit crazy looking at it that I have never been there! But one for the list when I am down that way.

Am heading off to Arundel soon so looking forward to that, haven't been there for a few years. Slimbridge and Welney are the regular ones for me.
