It really was an opportune moment for Monarto, with Taronga, Perth and Auckland all wanting to phase out. The original plan was for Taronga’s cows to go to Dubbo; and Auckland’s cow to go to Australia Zoo, so this was very much the project that almost wasn’t, but then was.
