On and off, over the past three months I have been working on my idea of an AZA Asian Elephant Population Revamp. The goal of this project is to create genetic diversity, expand the breeding program, give the elephants a better life, and ensure that elephants will be in the AZA for generations to come. The timeline for this would be from now to 2025. The Tulsa Zoo and the Cincinnati Zoo’s new elephant exhibits would be complete by the ending date so I will base the facilities off their new habitats. I have included Columbus in this as even though they are not currently accredited, because I assume they will be agin by 2025. All the facilities are divided into three categories: breeding facility, bachelor facility, non-breeding facility. I will start with breeding facilities. The first zoo will come soon.

The Tulsa Zoo will import Ceyla Himali, Farha, and Ruwani. This would allow for new genetics to be brought into the population and it would allow the zoo to establish a breeding herd. Rex will be transferred to the Tulsa Zoo to breed with Farha and Ruwani and to lead the zoo’s bachelor herd. Tucker, Baylor, and Ducan will be transferred here to start a bachelor herd as their genetics are common.
 
I know some people like to keep the fantasy threads realistic which I am trying my best to do. Ceyla Himali’s family at Zoo Zurich are surplus so that is why I was able to bring the to the AZA.

I was going to do that but it would not be feasible. Panang lives at Tierpark Hellabrunn which currently only has one other breeding cow besides her named Temi. Because of this there is no way they would give up Panang to let her come to the US cause she is definitely not surplus. I would love to see her move with the rest of them but in interest of keeping realistic it would not work out.
 
We were just talking about importing some cows from Europe for Tulsa earlier today on the Tulsa thread and Ceyla's family is a perfect candidate. Her son Upali has been very prolific and Zurich has a whole nother family group that is living seperately from Ceyla's family so transferring Ceyla's family would be a really good move for both Zurich and Tulsa. And yes, I agree it is pretty unrealistic for Panang to be moved and tbh after all these years of being apart from her mom I'm uncertain if reuniting them would be the best idea. On a side note, since you have made Rex the breeding bull here I'm guessing you have designated Sneezy as OKC's breeding bull.
