So it appears that the AZA has partnered with NFT creators called the Sleepy Sloth Metaverse, in which their NFT sales will benefit the AZA.

For those who know how environmentally harmful NFTs are, I think you can all see the issue here…
No. Just... no. Of all the tomf***ery... partnering with these glorified pyramid schemes... ugh. o_O:mad:

Edit: an approximation of my original reaction.

NFTs are the downfall of society.

It's literally a receipt that you own something. Best analogy I've heard for these glorified pyramid-schemes is that it's like going to a grocery store and paying $4,000 for a *receipt* of a banana. Not the actual banana, the *receipt* of the banana. Of which the actual object can be eaten by a random stranger.

When have NFTs made anything better? Several artists (including a friend of mine) have had their work posted on Opensea without permission, Konami ruined Castlevania's 35th anniversary by promoting them instead of making a new game, they stole TsukoG and his kazoo covers, they've tarnished the good name of primates everywhere, and now this?!
AZA, NFT, WTF, etc.
Hilarious that this has probably been in the works for months, only to come out after the crypto market crashes. Right click in the chat to express condolences.
I guess that's what happens when you partner with a group named after sloths .

Out of everything they could've partnered with, it's an NFT. Wow. I wasn't expecting that, but then again I'm pretty sure WWF did that earlier...

Actually, considering how pretty much all the Big Green groups have no issues partnering and taking donations from corporations with pretty dismal environmental records, this shouldn’t come as a surprise.

Doesn’t make it any less disappointing.
Although, this was announced right after the crypto market crash, so maybe it won’t last very long? Here’s hoping.
