Well it won't be news to everyone but from late October to the middle of December, Grey Seals give birth on the banks and sands of Donna Nook Nature Reserve. The Lincolnshire Coast venue, is free to enter (although plenty of places to donate) and you can get up close and view the Grey Seal colony and their 2017 offspring. Having witnessed 2 born yesterday (didn't see the cow's give birth but the pups were only a few hours old), the cows are still giving birth and will care for their young for 4-5 weeks. The volunteers expect cows to continue to give birth for the next week or so, and the majority of pups heading back to sea in the middle of December. If you are in the Lincolnshire area in the next week or so I would recommend a visit and with a number of wildlife parks in close proximity there is enough to make a day of it.
Was bitterly cold yesterday but a fantastic couple of hours and most enjoyable. Weekends are apparently hectic but if you have a spare day next week go for a visit, whilst the fluffy white pups remain close by in their 100s!
Hope you enjoy the photo's !
