Bali Zoo is in trouble - animals needing help

Here is the website which contains the sad news that this zoo is in fast decline. A tourist who recently visited this zoo said the animals were in a poor skinny state and very depressed. The Australian couple have moved out who were overseeing renovations at one stage and doing a good job.

Very sad

perhaps a link to the specific page would be helpful.
I was going to visit the Bali Zoo when I'm over there later this year but I can't justify spending US$20 on the entry fee. Its just a bit excessive for an Indonesian zoo, and possibly the decline in the zoo is due to tourists not being willing to pay that amount which is out of all relation to other costs in the region

I agree childonias. . . I was not expecting such a high price. I know as an Australian a bali holiday is a cheap overseas trip for me, where I am not planning to spend too much money.

I think that there is more to this than meets the eye.

We were going to make this zoo one of our zoo's projects to assist, but lots of things didn't add up.

I, for one, would like to know a lot more about this zoo from anyone who has seen it and also from the WA people who were involved with it.

Steve, can you elaborate on what didn't add up? I know that the Peel Zoo in Mandurah, WA have links to the Bali Zoo, but unfortunately I am not familiar with either.

Bali Zoo

What is it that confuses you ,what doesn't add up..I await your kind reply .

We are heading back to the Bali zoo from Perth in 3 weeks .The construction of the new Lions habitat has commenced ..I will keep you all posted on the progress..I do welcome your comments and findings .Up till now the zoo has been patched up as much as we could .The owner of the zoo Pak Agung has had his son come back from Singapore..Its full steam ahead to get this zoo up to year 2010 instead of 1970s iron clad prison cells .Lesmana the son is very forward thinking ,leaving the door open for us to help rebuild this zoo .We are doing this for free ,no scams or hidden agenda ..Can see they need our help and pleased to share our skills and knowledge .
